No-insurance eye exams & glasses
At all Heartland Vision locations, you can receive a comprehensive eye exam without insurance. It’s not necessary to have vision insurance to undergo an eye exam. Many of our patients do not possess insurance, but they can still afford top-quality eye care and name-brand eyeglasses.

Why many people do not have vision insurance
Some employer-sponsored health insurance plans do not include vision coverage or offer vision insurance only as an add-on (with a larger premium).
Individual vision insurance plans are available, but they usually require a 12-month commitment with an upfront payment. With many of these plans, patients still have to pay out of pocket for part of the cost of an eye exam, glasses or contact lenses. For many people, it just doesn’t make sense to pay $15-$20 a month for vision insurance (plus enrollment fees and copays).
